Many institutions around the world, those offer courses and programmes entirely over Internet have been lagging behind in offer of a trustable and recognized assessment system for many reasons, such as lack of existence of a comprehensive Internet-based method of assessment, quiddity of Internet and its challenges, … however many of today’s Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) providers, those provide facilitations and services over Internet, are working hard to provide and to present some new versions of their Cloud-based Learning Assessment Technologies (LATs), Learning Management Systems (LMSs), Digital Classrooms (DCs), Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) and e-Learning platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Cisco WebEx and etc. Regardless of all the brilliant advancements that nowadays we achieved, lack of access to an assessment method that belongs to Internet environment and fully equipped with the aforesaid features is still feeling well. ScudEx is a new way for cloud-based assessments, this new way removes the recognized disadvantages and drawbacks associated with use of the existing methods of e-Assessment. ScudEx possessessome uniquecharacteristics (ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand)to meet the growing needs in the field of technology enhanced learning, teaching and assessment.
ScudEx in compare with its similar existing applications, has some brilliant and excellent features in below enumerated some of the most important of these features: 1-ScudExas an e-Assessment application is the only application that removes dependency to the Internet, it also removes anxiety of online students about disconnection during taking exams.(it is quite tangible special for students who they are in travel or living in some countries with narrow band and fragile Internet connection). 2-ScudEx is the only application that allows its users (students) to resume an exam if the users’ systems fail or become shutdown and of course without disclosing questions, 100% protected from cheating. 3-ScudEx provides possibility for teachers to define exams in any format and with complicated structures vice versa the conventional online exam applications that usually offer multiple choice questions or questions with simple structures. 4-ScudEx supports multiple systems using, it means for example a student has already downloaded an exam on a workstation PC and for some reasons wants to take the exam on his/her laptop or smartphone, application allows to run an exam just one time and on a device that students desire, so students can delete a downloaded exam and then re- download on another system. 5-ScudEx encrypts all data related to exams, it is also tried to be protected from Internet hacking through use of a multi layer programming system. 6-ScudEx takes several photos in different intervals to make sure about identity of who was behind the exam’s system(for this feature a webcam must be connected to the students’ systems). 7-ScudEx participates teachers in the process of scoring, because of its support of complicated questions, for example in mathematical questions, students may do mistakes in calculations but if their calculation path be correct, it is possible to get apartial of a score, this feature is not supported by the existing applications. 8-ScudEx provides a full range of reporting tools for institutions. 9-ScudEx is a totally user friendly application.
